Still Life Food Photography Contest
Still life photography usually involves a set up - planning and careful execution of a shot. Food photography in particular takes a lot of preparation and the time to make a dish or an item of food aesthetically pleasing. So I thought it was about time we had a contest involving all elements! Your challenge is to create a brand shiny new Still Life Photography piece that features Food. Now the catch is you must be creative with the food. Entries will be considered carefully and if you are taking photos of food that someone else has made, then you need to step up the mark and make it as unique as possible. If you made the creation yourself, give us a brief idea in the description of how. Utilize the descriptions of your artwork to tell us about your photography!

A very Happy New Year to you all!
I hope the new year has been treating each and everyone of you well. So far for me, it's a bit half and half lol.
I missed you all bunches. School is starting back on the 21st January so my activity is gonna plummet again. So sorry about that.... but I this year I wanna start off with something new. Instead of a journal feature like I usually do, I'm going to do something a lil different. I'm going to host a competition.
The theme is 'Plants and Water'.
I chose this theme because, not everywhere in the world has snow and it'd be difficult to do a winter themed thingy.
The medium is photography ONLY.  
You can submit TWO entries only.
Entries must show  water on the plant/ part of the plant. Parts of plants are acceptable such as leaves, stems, flowers, fruits etc.

Been a busy year!  Since school started back, well, it's been nothing but GO, GO, GO!  I drive at east 20 miles every day just taking my eldest daughter to and from school.  Most days are jam-packed with errands, chores, an abundance of cooking and overall meal preparation, and, of course, the minute-by-minute upkeep of a now 10-month old.  And the baby is my world, guys... seriously.  It took over 9 years of being a mother, (and a lot of heartbreak,) to realize what a true joy it is to BE a mother.  Yep.  It's official... Damn.  I'm a grown-up.

Many apologizes to all and everyone who patiently waited, sometimes less patiently asked what's going on or felt betrayed by my reluctance to finally start this contest. I Need To See My SonHello there, it's me again. By now, I am sure you already know what I am going to say, but I cannot just accept the fact that you all have seen it... not when I know you have friends and peoples that haven't. I miss my son. I miss him terribly. I'm sure some of you completely understand and there are those of you who may get the idea, but will never be able to fully understand it if you are not parents. There really are some things in life that one cannot understand simply because they have not experienced it. It's almost like missing your favorite stuffed animal that you have had for years that all the sudden disappeared. It leaves that hole in your heart that cannot be filled by anything else,

I need to create a guide of sorts to navigating what will seem to be an unwieldy and quite long document. A dissertation is a particular genre of writing. It's not generally something that more than a few people ever read, typically the people that have to read it to approve it and a few very patient family members. I certainly don't expect anyone hear to read it although many of you have expressed interest in the past.
